How does one suppress (or at least attempt to suppress) opportunity fire? I recall this tactic being mentioned in some of the pre-release AARs, but can't find the references.

In the case of an amphibious invasion, do you first send air or shore bombardment against the enemy target to take out artillery and air? Or is opportunity fire against amphibous assault non-suppressable?

What about land combat? Send the air in first to take out the artillery? Or just include it in the main attack?

P.64 of the manaul talks about this some, but the corresponding tactics are not clear.

Pre Invasion bombing is the best method..........

Tac & Strategic air will target artillery first - a great way to get the pesky opportunity fire out of the way. That's why I like a nice mix of artillery & AA guarding my beaches for the inevitable Overlord Invasion.
