Does WaW model any form of diplomicy? For example: Could the Alies make a deal with Spain?

The only deal you can make with Spain is by invading it!.....[:)]

I take it that means that there is no diplomatic component in WaW?

Sorry No....there is no diplomatic model that you queried about...there are certain military actions that you can do which will trigger a diplomatic one....for example, if Germany invades Yugoslavia then this will unfreeze the Balkan states and they become Axis partners...if the Germans capture Leningrad then Finland will join the Axis....

Similar to some other strategic titles, like Strategic Command, diplomacy is not its own "Mini-Game", but rather a series of historical events and triggers that allow things to unfold without becoming too removed from reality. Timelines may change, events and strategies could be quite different, but it remains grounded in the realistic probabilities.
