Lend Lease?

Hi Folks,

After playing Germany in a few games, I decided to try out Russia with the AI playing the other Allied powers. One thing I immediately noticed upon going to war with Germany was that I was receiving no Lend Lease from the W.Allies.

In every game I had played as Germany, the turn I went to war with Russia, the W.Allies made their chain of Transports to Russia and (I assume) started transfering supplies. In my Russia game, no Transport, no supplies. Do I have to ask for it or something from the W.Allies? I tried hitting 'L' but nothing came up for a screen and I didnt see any other way to open a Lend Lease request or anything. Do the AI not provide human played Russia with LL?

(BTW, this Normal difficulty, with Advanced Supply, Area Supply, Auto Move Supply, and everyone set at 100 for Transport handicap).

Thanx.

If playing with Advanced Supply rules, the L key will not activate the Lend Lease screen as the supplies must be moved on the map. The computer will try to send Lend Lease to a human Russian player, but a lot depends on how it is doing in the game. It is a priority, but Germany can find ways to disrupt the WA so as to prevent the WA AI from getting the Lend Lease to you.

Thanks for the info.

I just found it odd that every game I played as Germany, the Lend Lease was definately being pushed through religiously despite me killing off 3-4 W.Allied Transport per turn with U-boats. Now that I'm Russia, there hasnt been a single turn of W.Allied Transports heading for Russia.

Do you have to have below a certain amount of supply or something for the AI to think you 'need' it?

Thanx again!

I suspect this may be the case - I am running a game as the USSR now, and whenever my supplies are low at the end of the turn, I tend to get supplies in Arkangelsk province. Since there is nothing there but a railhead, it must be from the Allies (I also notice allied transport ships in the seas above me). It varies, but can be as much as 40 supplies.
