Is it possible to amphibiously invade gibraltar? I can't seem to do it. Thanks.

assume you are talking from the German point of view (not a re-invasion after an Axis victory there). Don't know the answer? Maybe something to do with the fact(?) that it is fortified might prevent it, or maybe your transport capability is not sufficient for the amount and type of units you want to use. Personally, I find taking Spain and then Gibraltar helpful, although that leaves your flank open through Portugal. Also, the resources you get from trade with Spain vis-a-vis conquering it - I don't know what that works out to be.

Yes you can, but you must have the amphibious transport capacity to do it. Also, the artillery that will likely be there will Op fire at the invasion unless you kill it first, and since it is a fort, it will be harder to kill.

like joel said, you probably didn't have enough transports. a single transport can't move even a single infantry, it requires at least 2.

Do you have to have multiple transports in every area from where the invasion is launched to support it , or just in the invasion area???

Just the invasion area.

I had some trouble with that myself. I finally put 4 transports in both the Atlantic to the west and in the Med to the east and that did it for me. I tried with 4 in the Atlantic first and then separately with 4 in the Med and that didn't work either. Only when I had 4 on both sides would it allow me to invade. Strange...

I was under the impression that I only need to have 2 transport units in the sea zone where the asmphib assualt is occuring ? Do I need two in every sea zone?? Thanks.

The key here is understading that there is basic strategic transport capacity (needed all along the route of movement) and there is amphibious capacity (needed only in the last sea zone moved through prior to moving onto an enemy land area. The numbers are shown on the map as 2 30/3 where the first number is the number of units in the area (2 in this case), next the number of strategic capacity (30) and the last number is the amphious capacity (3). Given the low amphib capcities of transports (since all unit's require at least 5 capacity), you will need at least 2 transports in the last sea zone. In the other sea zones you will only need 1 to move 1 unit, but if you start moving a lot of supplies and/or units over the transports, eventually you will need more transports just to manage normal strategic movement.

I understood that I needed two transports in the last sea zone and I had them, but I still could not attack. I wonder if I still have a save. Maybe a bug?
