At last, I got to play this sucker. Nicely done.

I'm having a good time just learning the system....now on to the q's.[:)]

Is the current game date displayed anywhere?

Is there any way to quickly find "broken" transport chains, or get a visual on how the supply lines are flowing?

I know I should study the manual, but I thought I would sneak in the questions with the Kudos...the game is a blast.

Yes, upper left corner of the screen. Three arrows means a Movement Phase, some gears means Production Phase.

No, not really. It becomes easier to notice as you get more experience though. Note that you dont have to have a 'rail link' with your resources (despite what the tool-tip says). All you need a continuous line of friendly territories and/or transports.

Good luck!

In the words of the great philosopher Homer, "Doh!"

I never did see that date, and I was so in to my first game the draw snuck up on me, I thought I had more time! I do know that you can play the game "open ended".

Too bad there isn't a way to find "deadheaded" transports easily, as the WA there seem to be a few sea lines of supply that are pretty obvious, such as a line from the USA to jolly old England, and a few that are more subtle. There are a lot of transports along South America and in the areas around Australia that seem to be sort of surplus, or at least not as important as others.

Would be nice to get an end of turn report that listed any unused factory potential due to resource shortfalls, at least that would tell me that there was a problem that needed fixing.

While I'm wishing, even an end of turn summary that was simply a simply a canned slide show of the screens that are already available would be handy, sort of an automatic showing of the appropriate screens. Now, if they were in a format that could be printed out or saved as a MS office document, that would be truly outstanding!

Try the so called production summary screen (7th button on the toolbar). It shows you number of unlinked resources. If you have any you didn't know of, you have to find them yourself on the map though.

O.

Thanks!

Now, if only somebody can transfer the data output to another program...
