Exactly how far can the rail system take my troops?

Is there a limit on how many spaces troops will be shuttled through countries? Or only limited by the amount of transport capacity left?

Example,I have a fully functioning rail line from Berlin to Cacasus, but I can't transport my infantry all the way, is there a max?

Thank you

they can go around the world in one turn, provided you have the transports in the ocean. the only limitation is that every infantry utilizing the rail consumes 5 points of the transport capacity for that turn (tanks use 10).

so yes you can move units that far, but only a limited number of them. there is also the consideration that if the rail is damaged it has less capacity.

in your example, you probably used up the capacity in one of the provinces along the way.
