After the game menu is loaded, a window named "ActiveMovie Window" pops up and at once disappears. This sequence repeats itself to infinity.
When starting the game in fullscreen mode, the game menu minimizes and the "ActiveMovie Window" blinks on my screen. When started in windowed mode, the game menu is still visible and accessible. But to be honest, that blinking window is just too disturbing....

Hi, sorry to hear of this odd issue you're having. We'll try to get it resolved for you. First of all, have you updated to the latest version of Windows Media Player?

Windows Media Player is at Version 10.00.00.3646
When trying to update it tells me that there is no further update available.

Thanks. Are there any additional codec packs you have installed that you could uninstall for test purposes? The only reason I could see for the movie window having any issues is if something is interfering with playing Windows Media format movie files (.wmv) when launched from the game.

I just reinstalled Dx9c but to no avail.
Then I deinstalled Winamp, Quicktime and the DivX Package. No changes.

I finally got rid of those blinking windows.
I deinstalled some applications for video editing like premiere, encore, canopus and some others.
Now I can start the game without any issues.
