First off, you guys have done a great job. @ndly, I realise that you can only make updates to the AI for so long, as you have to move on to other projects. So my question is 1)when does the next patch come out? Yes, I know the standard answer, when it's ready, I was looking for a rough time frame, 1week? 1month? or is it completly up in the air?
What has been improved on the AI?
Thank you,
I have 2 more bugs to report but I am going to bed now. I'll rerport on the weekend again.

the patch will be out in 1 to 2 weeks.
the AI has had NUMEROUS improvements, and not just in it's algorithms. The combat analyzer (the combat summary that shows you the % chance to take an area) is paramount to the AI decision making and we found at least 5 things that were not being taken into account in the analyzer. this made the AI make a lot of suicide attacks and worse, send the offensive in the wrong direction.

Was one of these things militia popping up when attacking enemy national areas? I had a couple of early attacks bouncing with japan with china, when i had attack success% in the 90's.

Yes, I believe militia was one factor that was resolved.

Any chance of a sneak peak at the list of changes? No details needed, but I know subs are being reworked, any other major changes?

How are subs being reworked? I haven't had any big problems with them so far.

German AI subs tended to float around the atlantic just waiting to get destroyed.

In the game playback for PBEM games the view does not automatically move to where the movement or combat is taking place. You hear the sound (which gives you the clue as to whether it is land, air or naval movement), then you have to back up one or more frames and scroll around the map to find out where the action is taking place and play again. This is really something that should be corrected in the patch!

McHugh, I don't have that problem. When using the VCR in PBEM, the game shows me the proper province immediately.

Sorry, what I was referring to was when you view the replay frame by frame. If you just click play yes the view does move but does not when you do it frame by frame. Quess what you do is set the movement animation slow enough so that you can use play, then go back if need be using the frame by frame play back.

I will make a note of this (sounds like a bug to me)

I can confirm, when going frame by frame the view never moves unless you scroll it yourself.
