First of all, thank you to everyone for help in this game, second of all, in the next patch is Southern Italy allowed to produce units at all? At the start of the war, Italy had(key woed, had) a good standing army, it seems odd that southern Italy cannot produce units at all. Mabey allow them toi produce units until 1941? 42?
Any thoughts in the patch about htis? Or will it be the same?

There will be no change with Italian production in the patch. Italy can still produce militia and airborne units which allows them to duplicate their army. They can also build naval assets. They can of course also repair units that begin as Italian units (like the fighter and tac air unit in Southern Italy) if they are damaged.
If you really want to change this, it is possible by creating a custom sceanario and/or altering the data text files that control what units can be produced where.

So, if Italian artillery unit is lost, it cannot be replaced? Why? My readings suggest that Italian artillery was the best part of the Italian army and not so much different from the German one.

What's the point of allowing Italians to build aircraft carriers if they can't build carrier aircraft unit? I understand the reason for preventing Italians to build planes benefiting from the German research, but German carrier aviation did not exist (unless we call few squadrons of Bf 109Ts, Ju 87s and Fieseler torpedo bombers that never took off from the carrier, a carrier aviation). From game point of view, both German and Italian carrier aviation should be regarded at the bottom of the research tree and as such game should allow German player to produce carrier aircraft for both Germans and Italians. After all, German obtained their first aircraft borne torpedo from Italians and German crews were trained in Italy.

Well, since historical Italian army in 1940 is definitely not represented by initial deployment in 1940 scenario, I guess I'd have to adjust scenarios to reflect the historical situation.

Italy can repair anything that gets damaged that started in an Italian area, but they won't be able to build new items except for those few types mentioned. We feel that these restrictions do justice to the overall strategic impact of Italy on the Axis war effort. You're free to disagree and mod the scenario files however you wish. Good luck.

There is no difference between the two. Just build one in Germany and ship it down to the med.
