I've had a couple of PBEM games no problems with the same person but now we started a new game. I'm Axis and when I check my email, the attachment shows it as a psv file but when I download it, it's just a plain named file. Example: crash instead of crash psv. This has happened before when trying to play with other people, there's no way I can open the file to see it so I need to cancel the games. Why would everything work ok one moment then not the other times?

Sounds like the file got corrupted somehow. I have no idea why this would happen. Have you tried again?

I have tried many a times. Haven't change any setting on my computer so that can't be it. I've had two games without any problems, one game I setup I had to cancel cause I kept receiving files like that. Now I'm trying to start my third game with the same person and I'm getting bad files. Could this be a bug?

Maybe. You might try reinstalling the game (or the other player should if they are the one generating the bad files). It's hard to understand what would suddenly cause the save game to start saving incorrectly.

I uninstall and reinstall the game this morning along with the patch and it's still the same. I made sure I had my antivirus turned off incase it would affect the reinstallment. Like I said before, I've had this happen previously but I figured it was the way the other player was saving his file. I'll mention to my present opponent about doing as you suggested.

Well I think i found my problem. I'm starting to believe one of my email box, or whatever you call them, is the culprit so I tried my main email box and problem solved so far. I'm still testing this but I'm pretty sure that was it.
