transport automove problem

Had this issue the other day and dont know how to bypass it. Hopefully, there is a bypass.

I had allied fleets along the european continent and the axis had just taken spain. I wanted to move troops to north africa to threaten spanish morocco, but the arty/air in spain would op-fire on them. SO i wanted to move a transport chain through the middle of the atlantic for a couple of zones and meeting with transports in the entrance to the straights of gibralter. This would form a transport chain bypassing the opfire zone. Unfortunately, the transport wouldn't move south into the azores - the system kept wanting to route it around the coast and then north into the zone(and taking op-fire too). No matter what i did, i couldnt get it to move south. In the end, i had to bring a transport from canada, down the coast and then across.

Is there anyway to "force" a unit to move to one zone instead of another? This applies mostly to transports cause with most other things you can continue strat movement by moving one space at a time...

I have the same problem in the exact same area. In the end, I did the same as you by bringing a transport from elsewhere to connect the chain instead.

I definately think there should a way to force the path (assuming there already isnt one and I'm just missing it).

I've had similar problems with strategic moves, for that I simply strat move to a point that I do want and then move the unit by strat move along the path I want vs the cpu path... try that for the transports and see if it works.

it doesnt when you have unmoved transports because the system sees this as being free movement
