Lost units between scenarios in campaign

Hi guys,

In case that this is not fixed in the next coming version...

I have just lost 2 units between scenarios in a campaign. They are still in the list of available equipments but I can't see them and of course can't use them (1 mortar and 1 AT gun).

Here are my observations when I use the 'H' key:
- The platoon that owns those units shows as A0, A1, A2, ... event if they are in reality D0, D1, D2, ...
- The location for the lost units shows minus values ex: -2,43

Paul, if you are interested, I can provide you with all the saves for the campaign scenarios since I save all of them separately in order to use the report tool.

Had a similar problem. The units were available when I purchased my core force. However, they didnt show up on the screen when I started deploying my units.

Another thing...the destroyed french and german tanks in the campaign "preparing the way" did simply disappear. Only the fire of the explosion was there...
Does this have something to do with the version of the game? Im currently playing 6.1

This issue of disappearing wrecks has happened for a long time, since 4.x at least. I can't remember about ver 2. It happens in all battles not just in Preparing the Way. It does seem strange but since it does not effect the game play I just imagine that the tanks blew apart so badly that they did not leave any hulk behind, just scattered remains.

I did tests on this a year or so ago, to try and determine if it was at least icon related. It happens mostly, but not always, with desert and winter maps, so it may be terrain related, as far as colors maybe in the tile set. It seems to happen with some types of vehicles more than others, but not all of any class, very strange, and everything was inconclusive. I gave up after awhile, and just dealt with it, but would be nice, some day to actually know why this happens!!

So there is nothing wrong with my installation...
Thx!

Just to add to my original post:

It seems to be the artillery units that are part of my core group that are affected. I tried to resume my game even with those two units not available and I found out that my 2 "M4 81 MMG" are gone too...

Locations for those 2 units are -2,46 and -2,45

Without artillery support it will be hard now to pass through this one... <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

After some tests, I found a way to get them back.

If I reload the last save on the previous scenario and I use Manual Deploy instead of Automatic deploy then all units are available...

So the bug would be caused by the routine of the automatic deployment!?!

To prevent any situation when your troops dissappear from the battle, it is wise to check that you have all units from your force-list onboard. This is must to do if you auto-deploy.

Other thing very related to this is that when designing a scenario, you should check twice that you have all troops deployed and that they are really onboard, not just in the list. I've seen some scenarios where they are 'outsiders'.. Its a bit work but you'll just unload all units and reload again after checking them.

If you delete in purchase-screen a formation that is unloaded from differend formations vehicles, you'll get ghosts to your scenario; - vehicles say they are loaded but there actually is nothing. This has caused some 'Bug-reports'. Sorry for designers this came up quite late, 3-4 months ago.
