Using the GGWAW system in another game

Since you are planning on using this basic system for a new game, I have a couple of suggestions that I would like to offer so perhaps they can be incorporated in the new game.
I think it is important to have a way of scrolling through each of your units (or at least the units you have not moved yet). There is nothing more frustrating than forgetting to move a unit because it is in some far off locale. I think this could be important in a Civil War game where some distant units are moving towards the front.
When a unit is destroyed in combat perhaps a prompt could come up asking if you want to rebuild the unit(s). I would prefer not to go into the production screen to do this if such a prompt was available. I think the learning curve on this matter has ruined some of my games because only recently have I become aware that I am rebuilding units that I never wanted to rebuild in the first place.
When using advanced supply, perhaps the route to the supply unit could be highlighted temporarily in color. There are many times I have initiated combat somewhere only to find out later that it unnecessarily screwed up my plans elsewhere because it used up critical transport capacity
I agree with another post that requested a prompt to remind you to assign research points before ending the turn. Several games have been ruined when I forgot to do this before advancing the turn. It only has to happen once to raise my ire (mostly at myself for forgetting).
Overall, the game system is good and the AI is particularly adept at exploiting my weaknesses. But casual computer gamers like me with limited attention spans could sometimes use help from the computer to keep from self-destructing. Good luck using the basic system in other games.
