what does "-rd" mean?

I'm looking at the aircraft replacements pool and see that listed after the names of some of the various aircraft types ("Vengeance I -rd"). What does it mean please? Off to the right of that screen, I also see "Aircraft Assembly 410: + (830 -rd)". I'm sure it means those kind of aircraft aren't available yet, but not quite sure what it really means. Thanks in advance

-rd means "research and development". It isn't being produced, but will be eventually.

Well, didn't "&" used to be a reserved character? The poor program might get confused, and self-destruct.
"The program has encountered an unexpected error and will now format your hard drive. Have a nice day."
