Vacationing? Hardly!
I've just caught a last minute flight from Henderson Field to report in to this group. A goodly number of Forum troops are engaged in fierce combat in a battle that could definitely change the course of the war in the Pacific.
Some are down with malaria and we have a few wounded. In fact, there are one or two MIAs, I fear.
But the men are doing their job. Even when seemingly abandoned by their own, they are hanging in there.
Not much mail gets out of the jungle, so I'll give this hardy band of warriors your greetings when I make that return flight.
Uh oh, engines are revving, gotta go.
