The Desert, or A Star is born

June 1941, a new pilot joins I JG27 that has been posted in the Desert to help protect Rommels DAK

a Hotshot and a loner, the Desert may be just what he needs, or as many will find out, just there final resting place

a shame, the shot does not do the sight as seen justice, there is a rain storm going on in the background, with many low laying clouds, the cloud deck seems to go forever, you can climb to 14 K and come out it, only to find yourself in more clouds, very interesting during a fight

the 109 F will be the best plane flying in the desert most most of its life, the Spit will out turn it, but he F will still rule the Sky

besides, in World War One, there was a reason why the Allied pilots said

Beware the Hun in the Sun

Hurricanes, Hurribombers, along with Spits and Blenheims, the Desert is not a friendly place, but it is a Fighter pilots dream, one who dreams of fame and glory

The Staffel has lost some good pilots, but it is growing from with in, and new pilots are taking the stage and preforming well

First, you need The Last Days. If you don't have it, you can purchase it as a digital download or boxed copy from our online store. Then, click on the pinned thread on the Official Beta Patch Status and send Tanker IV an e-mail per the instructions in the threads linked to in the SimHQ forum. He'll get you the beta patch which contains the additional desert/med stuff.

Regards,

- Erik

some how, some way, my settings for my stick got messed up, so once I got it fixed, I went back and took the Star out for a spin, to make sure it was good

a lot of Canes out today, heavy canes in fact !

as normal, I got alt and I get to pick and choose when to attack, and I think now is right, got 2 Canes under and headed towards the front, two more under me and a whole lot comeing my way, roll onto my back and pull the stick to my belly, pick out the wingman, half way down, cut power, as I start my pull out and line up on the target, I am doing 370, put the pipper out in front of the engine and tap the trigger, and flames brust forth, got to go under the flaming wreak and then risk the flaps, and pull my nose up, and the wingleader is sitting pretty with my pipper sitting just under his engine, tap the trigger and BLAM, no more Cane

never seen the one comeing up from my belly, but his aim was off

twist and turn, loop and twist some more, then see a climbing Cane, and try to pick him off, and as I said, something you get lucky

aimmed and fired my MGs to find the range, and seen strikes with the first shots, hit the 20mm, but they flew over top of the target, rolled on my back to follow and watched this planes fly right into the ground, first burst, must of taken out the pilot !

and again some twists and turns, and latch onto a cane down low, a nice turn fight starts and I can't find the flap button (had changed it when my old stick died) soon, I noticed that it don't look like we going to make it, a Big Hill side is in front of us, I try and pull my nose up and see the Cane try the same, level off and tap the trigger again and chop his wing off, then pull with all my might and just skim the hill top, then a sharp counter roll, as the cane on my tail misses on his shot, he heads up and counter roll back under him and pull my nose up too, soon we are both running out of speed, and I begin to hammer him, 20mm stikes all across his bottom, but nothing, got a cane on my tail, and still keep fireing, cut the power and hit the flaps and try to hang on his tail, he starts to nose over and I drop my wing, got a chance to make a very close range snap shot as we pass

prefect shot, right into his fuel tanks and he goes up into a ball of flames, which, I am too close and I also go up in flames !

I hit the cockpit and bail out, only, the last mad chase, has carried me over the lines, and I am taken POW

but it was a nice 6 kill mission !!!!

of course, the hassle is the game won't let me take the mission, so will have to refly it, but dang it was a good one :)

Decided to go back in and try again

even better, Hung in as long as I could, then had to point my nose down and run, seemed like I had all of the bad guys on my tail !!!!

got out of range and after calling for help, was able to get back into the middle of the fight as the other guys came in and broke up the chase

at the end, seen a Cane headed back to the front line and gave it a chase, just as I caught up to it, I see a few 109s dive in and pass, I line up and fire a good brust into the Cane, blowing its rudder off and damaged more of its tail, plus damaged the engine, climb on pass, and watch as it starts to roll onto its back, when one of my mates closes in and finishes it off !!!!

so, a 7 kill missions, but should of been 8

land and find out the WAR is over, Congrats, you did a great job !!!!

ahhh, squadron shot down 113 planes, while losing 22, 54 of those kills were mine, ended up with the Knights Cross

funny, I got a new Yellow 14 skin, that is why I went back in and never took a shot of the plane !!!

oh well, Great battle

map is very pretty, new clouds really shine in the desert
