Oh you'll like this AI

Be it the scale, some clever programming and/or just great design - folks, the aggressive AI of Normandy is back!

Long weekend, short weekend, before class or after work, sit back and be educated because you'll need to "fight" as the Allies to win this one.

The good feeling I'm getting early on is that if this title continues the way it's going with all its hard generalship and fun, then opening up Battles in Normandy all over again knowing it's set chronologically after this fight, will be a pleasure - a motivation for revenge in fact against the Axis [:)]

The transition from BiN to BiI is logical with a sense of some nice theatre-specific chrome rather than a massive re-modelling of game and interface as was the case graduating from Korsun. BiN is not superseded but given a slightly finessed twin.

The map is rugged and given its mountainous tile set can be fatiguing on the eyes after a while. Possibly a slightly opaque overlay could be added as an option in a patch. A sound volume slider would be welcome somewhere down the track for those playing with a cd in the drive or internet radio - without waking up the other half through over-amplified combat! I'm also very grateful for responding to a request to allow for the toggling of nation-specific options by clicking the flag icon.

SSG and Matrix, good job. This title promises to be "plenty of game".

Adam.

I agree 100%, BiI really does convey(rather quickly i might add) the bloody fighting that transpired in Italy. Those Axis(German) units can move pretty damn quick to cover both prongs of my "fork" and until i can control the center i am fighting a losing battle as the Allies. All three maps are outstanding games in themselves and now we have two more already[:)]. The map is superb at 1024x768 on my digital LCD monitor, i have no complaints there, you might just need to upgrade Adam[;)]. The improvements to the interface and added features are much more obvious this time around as compared to KP vs. BiN. "Plenty of Game" indeed[:D].
