Colony Ships?

I'm feeling a bit foolish here.

How do you build a Colony ship? Is it researched and if so, at what level? Do you have to design it in ship design? I know it 's probably obvious... but I sometimes struggle with the obvious.

So who's going to tell me how easy it is?

HELP always appreciated!

Hi,

Its just a matter of having the cash (2000?) and the population, just like Ind,R&D, Spaceports, Defense, Marines.

Hope that helps.

BTW,

Your Colony Ships and Marine Ships are in the centre of the ship build page if you have built the Marine and Colony facilities. Just click on the ship you want to add to the build list.

Thanks

I've got the original game with manual and I still don't think it's obvious.

I've been playing the campaign but got a bit stuck, so decided to try a random map. Through the Campaign I've always had the ability to build Colony ships, so when I started a random map and reached tech level 2 and could view tech level 3, but still no Colony ships to build or in sight I was beginning to wonder... So it's purely a mater of cash (RP) and population then? Does anyone have exact figures on the values required?

Thanks

Hully.

It varies by race and tech level.

If you click on the reports button (the middle button), then the racial stats button (the rightmost button), you'll find a wealth of info on both your guys (be sure to press each of the 3 middle buttons) and the bad guys.
