I got up to mission 9 and got pretty deep into it with all techs researched and decent sized fleets guarding all planets that I have under control. Well the night got late so I saved my game and quit.

Next day, the saved game won't load anymore. There's no error or anything, the "busy" cursor would just stay there, I can move the mouse and everything, so it's not like the machine hung but the game won't respond to anything else.

The previous saved game I have is from mission 8... and I really don't want to start mission 9 from the beginning again.

Any suggestions on what I can try?

Already had the 1.41 patch, and I played through missions 1-6 and 7-9 without any problems.

Can't help you with the problem but may I suggest you keep autosave turned on in the future....[:)]

I've got a bad feeling about this. Is this with the 1.41 patch? I ask because I experienced the same problem with the "Enter the Klaa'Keen" scenario, using the 1.3alpha3 patch (yes, lo these many years ago).

I'd hoped the 1.4 (and 1.41) patches had fixed this problem. I'm replaying the second campaign with the new patch so I guess I'll find out eventually.

I hope this bug isn't still hanging around, because if it is, there isn't any workaround I'm aware of. Going back to previous save positions won't do any good, nor will restarting the campaign (I tried both).

I'm going to have to refer this one to SSG, I'm sorry I don't have an answer. I'll ask Alex from SSG to check in here and see if he has any suggestions.

Hi Guys,
I picked up and fixed the problem causing the 'unable to load saved games' in the 2nd scenario of the kla-kleen campaign which was fixed for the v1.41 release. Warhead - you didnt mention which campaign you were playing. If you can give me this info, i can try to recreate the problem on this end.

Campaign 1 mission 9 I believe it is. Could be Campaign 2... not really sure...

It's soon after you researched the interstellar drive or something and got warped to another galaxy. Mission 8 was where you played the resistance and you had to get a message to the humans. Mission 9 is when you realise you've been fighting on the wrong side of the war.

From the description this is the first campaign, scenario nine. "Against the Combine."
