Missing anchor

In the scenario I am playing, Rockhampton, in Queensland, has a port capacity of 6(6). Yet there is no anchor there, and if you send ships there, there is no way of accessing them.

What does this mean?

Cheers

However, there is a little wee square with a dot in the middle where the anchor ought to be. Excuse me if all this is explained in the manual - as described in other posts, I don't have a manual.

Cheers

I'm not sure what you mean... the Anchor only shows up when ships are disbanded in a port hex (Port 3 and up). If the ships are still in a Task Force (TF) they won't show up as an anchor, and thus won't be available from the 'ships in port' selection screen.

About the wee sqaure with the dot.... I can only imagine it means mines. Hexes with mines get a roundish square with a black dot in the middle. Green means allied (thus friendly) mines, and red means Japanese (enemy) mines.

I didn't realize that the anchor meant docked ships. So my problem was a false alarm. And yes, the little square is green, so, friendly mines.

I don't usually make mistakes like that, but I haven't got the manual yet.

Thanks
