I finally patched all the way to ver 1.52 and when I restarted a new scen 15 game vs the AI, I found I no longer had control over turn 1. Soon as I clicked on "Start Game" from the scenerio selection screen the turn began to run. Before I patched from 1.21 I could make changes to, or move various units around. I double checked that the game was set for "Japanese Computer" and tried again, but still had no control over turn 1. I also tried starting scen 16 and the same thing happened. Is this a new bug or did I miss seeing this in the readme files for all the patches?

Also, I recall seeing threads about being able to control what aircraft a unit upgrades to. How can that be done, I can't seem to find anything on the air unit screen that will let me do that.

Check to see that the historical first turn toggle wasn't triggered when you patched...?

Make sure you have turned the "Historical First Turn” option off, before starting a scenario. It is under the realism settings.

That was it, thanks. BTW I just noticed the "Player Def. Upgrades" toggle in the upper right corner of the same screen, does that control how I can upgrade my air units?

Patching will always remove the preferences file.

You will need to check your preferences after patching and set them accordingly.

Yes, it allows you to change the upgrade path for air units.

All I can find is 1.50 on the downloads page. Am I missing something here?
