I am beginning my current Scn 19 PBEM game and have noticed my land based Zero units are coming into the game with only 9 aircraft/pilots - exp level around 85. However as more planes come from the replacement pool the pilot exp drops right down to 40-50, therefore the overall exp level of the sqd drops into the 60's - is this normal or a possible bug?

Japanese replacement are rookie pilots. Most of the times they will crash their planes or got shot down at once. You have to live with that!!!
You may try to trin them, attacking enemy troops...(at 100 feet) but this will cost you many planes (op. losses)
