Industry / oil / resource repair...

Where in the manual is this topic discussed?

From various threads in the forums I have gleaned:

Repair

A. You need 20,000 supply points in a hex for repair to take place???[X(] Is this fact or myth?

B. You repair 1 point per facility per day at the cost of 1,000 supply points per point repaired??? Is this fact or myth?

I can find nothing in the manual that deals specifically with the issue of Industry / Oil / Resource repair.

Expansion

A. Manual: 1 Manpower + 1 Heavy industry + 100 Supply points per point expanded
B. FAQ: 10 Manpower + 10 Heavy Industry + 1000 Supply points per point expanded

Which is correct? [EDIT:] Froma test I just ran it would appear the manual is correct.

Froim my own experience:

Expansion: Manual is correct
Repair:
A is true
B seems to be true ( this one is hard to tell due to supply movement)

I find the 1000 supply points for one point of repair unfair for the Japanese player. A couple of hundred maybe...
In my game against AI as Japan, I occupied Batavia and the resource facility is at (600)x0. Let's say it's January 1, 1942. If I repair a point a day it will cost me 600,000 supplies to completely repair it, and this will happen on August 24, 1943. Let's say the game goes on until VJ, September 2, 1945. By that time, Batavia would have produced only 624,000 supply points and that many resources. Supposing I will have the ships to move these supplies and resources, is it worthy to sunk supplies in repairing Batavia? I did not check if I have enough resources for my HI without Batavia, Soerabaja (same situation) and Palembang (with about half damaged) but I feel that putting that much supplies, of which I'm quite short, in repairing is not a good strategy. Maybe some more experienced players could shed some light?

I don´t think it´s worth the supplies. Bad luck if it´s completely destroyed! If I would repair something than only oil, as Japan you´ve got enough ressources but you lack of oil.

You "only" need 10.000 supply points at base to repair production

Each repaired production point cost you 1000 supply, only 1 point repaired per turn.

This is a DAMN good reason why japan should be VERY carefull when going after production centers, BOMB them, SHELL them, BOMBARD them, and continue doing this for 2 weeks in order to knock out as much engineers as possible. ONLY then make an dilliberate attack and hope for the best.........

Exactly. In my PBEM I made the mistake of grabbing one of the juicier centers on the fly....the place was so badly trashed that I didn't even consider fixing it (would have cost almost 900,000 supply and taken 20 months to bring it fully back on line). Following this I made it my highest priority to plan and execute deliberate and overwhelming attacks against the remaining resource/oil centers. I took the remaining fat prizes almost entirely without damage.

Does it have to be a deliberate attack? I jumped on an unoccupied Miri with some paratroops so they shock attacked the empty base and when I looked at the oil it was (63) 37!!! this is the only unoccupied resource base I have noticed to take damage. The ones in Philippines and Malaya were captured with deliberate attacks and received no damage to the resources.

Sorry, poor choice of words. I meant deliberate in this sense: Unhurried in action, movement, or manner, as if trying to avoid error: moved at a deliberate pace.

Thank you! I'll start another game as soon as 1.6 is out.
