I'm using versino 4.03. When I first start the game, the first mission I fly starts out with a quick quantum disorientation, then I'm looking at the craft as it ought to appear in the carrier, gear down, etc. only there' NO CARRIER! I'm then going through the normal launch procedures, but there are no allies, no carrier...nothing but me and the enemy ships in some unknown sector.

I can abort the mission and then choose another. The second mission and the rest are OK...it's just the first one after loading the game. Any ideas?

Does the error.log in the SS main directory give any hints?
