I can't wait for this game to come out. I've been waiting pretty much forever for a Napoleonic game on this scale. Anyway, I know that the next game using this engine (if you make one) is the last thing you want to think about right now, but is there any chance of an American Civil War game? While I know some folks like a couple of the strategic level ACW games that have come out in the past, I haven't thought much of any of them. This engine and game scale seem like they would be ideally suited to finally make a good ACW game. Any hope for that?

Tangent: Gary Grigsby & Co are making American Civil War based on the World at War engine.

Yeah, I'm aware of that, and I'll certainly check that one out when it arrives. But I REALLY like the scale and the tactical battles that CoG uses. I've been hoping for an ACW game on this scale forever.

We are planning to stick with gunpowder era for the next several products, and ACW is certainly on our list of things we're considering.

American Revolution next please, then ACW after that if you're so inclined.

Sweet! Thanks for the reply. And ravinhood's desire for the American Revolution notwithstanding, I think you'd have a LOT more interest in the ACW next. [:'(]

Frederick the Great first, then Wars of German Unification, then maybe ACW. Thirty Years War could be fun. So many wars to fight, so little time.

Another vote for ACW. I've only had the quickest of looks at CoG so far, but I'd far rather see an ACW game with this engine than the WaW one.

I agree with Arvinvald; do the wars of German Unification and throw in the Risiorgimento while you're at it. 1866 needs the Italian Front to be complete, not to mention the possiblities of 1859.

I agree, although ACW is always welcome we need a 1776 Grand Strategy title. I remember about 10 years ago i had a SNES American Revolution game i would play for hours...can't recall the name... but there hasn't been much else "grand strategy" wise.

Yes there has "Frank Hunters ACW" so now we need an "American Revoloution 1776" grand strategy game with this engine "first".

I would also greatly prefer the revolutionary era to the civil war era, especially with the Gary Grigsby & Frank Hunter ACW games in the works. The revolutionary era was, IMHO, far more politically fluid than was the civil war (anyone else reading 1776?). You could also easily add scenarios (or at least mods) for the French & Indian War and the War ot 1812 if you did a revolutionary war game. [:D]

See, see, see how much of a point he has, soooooo much more to be had out of the Revolutionary 1776 time period than ACW. What would you make for an expansion for ACW? Custers last stand? hehe

IMHO, what I'd really like next is a detailed combat for NAVAL warfare, and extend this game...

I'm up for either American Revolution or ACW. Maybe leaning a bit toward ACW, though...
