does the ir vision work? If so how does it work in the game? I have noticed that the panther tank has ir vision but I do not see what it does in game play.

I did try using at night and still did not notice an increase in vision. How it looks to me it should show an increase of 1 hex if it was working, but I may be wrong. Is this how it works or do I misunderstand it. It appears to me that it does not work for me. This is an advantage that some of the panther tanks had.

What's the weather like. Rain or snow may degrade NVG performance.

It could be that this is a feature that has silently been buried what with all the changes to the game engine. I think it is a feature only available to the Sd Kfz 251/20 UHU and the Panther UHU, so it might have quit working, and no-one has noticed till now?! This is a feature from the games previous life as SP3, so it wouldn't surprise me if somewhere the coding got scrambled or something...Mike Wood, Tom Proudfoot, any ideas on this?

Just tested the Panther UHU, still working with v7.0b6.
Test was scenario with base vis of 2, 8 Panther UHU vs 8 IS2m located 8 hexes apart. The panthers saw all the IS2m which were inside the 10 hex range of the IR equipment, the IS2m were blind to where the fire was coming from.
There is no benefit if the visibility is more than 10 to start with.
thanks, John.

The Uhu have IR vision of 10, that means if the visibility at night is less than 10 (no moon), it will still be able to see up to 10. However, if night visibility is greater than 10 (full moon)ir vision really don't help because it is outside of the equipment's range.
