CHS and dividing air units??

During our very brief sojurn into CHS, J. Burns and I discussed a house rule to limit per side the number of air units that could be divided.

Is there a slot limit in the database? I remember reading somewhere that dividing air units was partially responsible for the leader bug or other problems.

I was just curious how many slots were available to accept the divisions or can a player divide all of his units without concern.

I think there are about 200 air unit divide slots - #2200-2399 (if memory serves). All allied air units except the soviets have been converted to squadrons and do not divide. Until Soviet activation, only the Japanese will need these slots.

There is some limit for land units but I do not know what it is.

WOW! That is the same region as Task Forces. Does this mean that the sum total of all task forces and divided land unit components is 499??

Ok, I read this and now I have a question. In my own personal mod of stock scenario 15 I have filled most of the airgroup slots. Especially slots 2200-2399. Does this mean that airgroups in my scenario will not be able to divide? Will this cause any other problems? And if I rearrage the database to consolidate all the airgroups are there any hardcoded airgroups that need to remain in thier assigned slots besides the Russians? Thanks.

From what I can see, Task Force data is slpit off into its own game tables. It needs to do that to keep track of more information that is not held by the Location/LCU.
The first LCU split unit is 3500.
