Stalingrad Campaign

I'm playing this campaign and I have to say that it's beautiful and it is hard vs cpu.
Now I'm doing the mission on the grain silo, and I think that I will not win, russian marines whit their sub-machine guns kill my infantry (3-4 men x shots!), after some turns russian sappers infiltrated behind my lines and killed my mortars, finally my tanks are almost unuseable, because the ground is full of mines and stone wall!
Are there some suggenstions?
Please!
Thanks and regards.

Don“t worry

Stalingrad was HELL for the germans to fight in, and it will be so for yop too

Use small recon teams on foot to find these smg armed sailors, and then unleash HELL on them, with every kind of artillery tube imaginable (onboard mortar/arty, OB 105/150mm, and of course OB Nebelwerfer), isolate them with smoke and if you can, bombard them with direct fire (150 mm inf.guns on some kind of tank chassis is especially good here, even if the russians are impervious to direct fire inside the building, you can just target the hex next to them and suppress them that way). Finally, if you want to be syre of clearing them out, use elite, flamethrower/demo charge armed engineers to wipe the soviets from the face of the earth.

Remember, in order to beat the russkies in the city, you should engage them on your terms wherever you can.

Be carefull out there!!

OOOPS, I cut the post short

For the soviet infiltrators attacking your mortar pits. use some of those tanks you have a hard time using effectively anyway, as artillery guards.

Finally, get used to the fact that if you want your tanks in the thick of it during an urban combat, you will just have to wait for your engineers to clear them a path through obstacles and mines. Tanks are still important in a city, since they can rule the streets, directing fire down the lenght of them, so it is not a total waste of effort to use engineers to clear them a path.

Remember: Focus your on a few attainable objectives at a time, and make sur to consoslidate your position before pressing on towards new objectives. Move slowly and cautiously forward, using artillery and smoke to suppress, blind, and then direct fire (if available) to suppress the soviets further. Only then can you lanch your attacks with a high margin of succes.

Thanks Vejgaard, I'll try your tactics, but another problem is the fire opportunites of enemy units, I fire on them, trying to supress, they response and BOOM they hit hard!
However, you are right, Stalingrad was a hell for germans, so this campaign simulate very well

May wants to gets some sig33b. They are good at wrecking the building the enemies are hiding in. The trick is to find them first
