Playing vs the AI at "impossible"

I was bored with no file in my inbox from pbem oppenents - so I figured I would play the AI. To get a challenge I set it to "impossible" and turned AV / end date off.

First I played the Allies - and won by Fall 45. The Germans just never got anywhere in Russia and the Atlantic war never really got under way.

The I played the Axis. Russia was taking a handy beating in a sandwich - but come late 43 the WA just started to bomb my Germans to hell and soon after they went ashore and pushed right through the Wehrmacht like a knife in hot butter. After that it was only a matter of time for Japan which fell in the summer of 45.

I am sure others have done better - I just figured I would share my experience with the AI on impossible. I reckon I will have to refine my "anti AI" strategy a bit and go back for another try as the Axis sometime.

Well I was hoping that changed once I got to higher levels...
At normal I have learned air and fleet deployment that pretty much shuts down Germany.

Let us know what those are and what you think the AI should be doing better and maybe Gary will be able to improve this in the future.

Well one thing I've noted is that if I take any territory in Western Europe Germany shifts all of its forces back to deal with my forces. No matter how small of a force it may be. The German AI does not seem to have a notion of proportion. So I've found that if I want a decent game against the AI, I can't try any "annoyance" tactics, as they end up completely crippling Germany. :)
