In a PBEM game already under way, how do you change counties from AI to Human or from Human to AI control?

There is currently no way to change an AI player to human or v.v. I have requested it for a patch, and been told that the feature both makes sense and would be reasonably easy to implement.

I have also asked for the ability to have the AI temporarily take over (like when someone goes on holidays) - although this might just be a special application of the feature above.

I am also concerened about somehow resetting a password if someone forgets theirs, or a player just becomes non-responsive - anyone got any ideas on how that should work?

Feature for consideration: "master password" that overrides player passwords.

I am currently in a PBEM and we are not using passwords, does that matter, and/or how do we change that?

Right-click on the map to get to the Set Policy menu.

The last choice should be about managing passwords.

You can set a password for yourself there. I recommend this because sometimes in a large game people will mistakenly send the turn to the wrong person, and he may open it without thinking, and see your position. So even if no malicious intent is involved, people can still find out things they shouldn't.

By the way, in PBEM don't forget about the Set Policy functions. For trade, especially, it can prevent your Trade Advisor from doing crazy things.

Don't get me started on the advisors! I don't use any of them anymore! I was about to conquer all of Austria, as Prussia, kicking butt and taking names, just so my ADVISOR could declare a ceasefire between us. I almost chuncked my computer out the window!
So, I now run a true dictatorship with no advisors and all of the blame...

Glad to see that someone involved with CoG is on the ball!
