Why is there no password security on PBEM save files? It seems to me that the host can open any player/country's game file at any time.

Players can set their password on their first turns in the Policy screen. (From the right-click popup menu on the strategic map.)

As to your other question on the other thread, there's currently no way to change human players into AI players (or vice-versa) in hot-seat or PBEM games.

Then every PBEM game will end as soon as any one player abandons the game?!?

I asked about this BEFORE the game was released and was told that this option would be available.

The only posts of yours I recall from before the game was released was from before we decided to add PBEM at all, so I don't recall answering your question on this.

That really isn't the issue. Is there any plan to allow Human/AI control change for PBEM and/or hot seat games? What is the recommended course of action for a PBEM game when one of the players "drops"?

I don't know... do you have a crystal ball that tells you the correct answer of how many pbem and tcp/ip games there are and will be finished?

With the game as it stands now, none will make it to the end. Few will even be attempted. So says my crystal balls.......

One option would be for everyone in the game to email their passwords to a neutral third party.
