Please tell me there's an easier way of changing aircraft armament of on-map and reinforcement aircraft than by trawling through every sqd. and changing the devices one by one[:(].

Change the aircraft. The squadrons should follow.

They do, in every respect
except with regards to armament. Below is the Buffalo I in my personal incarnation. You'll notice it differs to a lesser or greater extend from the stock version (in this case CHS scn.154).

Here's how the on-map Buffalo I appears. Same as above, except it's retained its 4x0.303" MGs, the reason being that the Air Group editor wants you to specify the devices of the individual sqd's.

Interesting... and highly illogical, Captain!

But come to think of it, I have tried something along those lines too, with similar results. I tried fiddling around with different armament fits, and got differing results in airplane screen and squadron screen. Odd...

timtom,
The way I do it is using the editor:
1) Create/modify the aircraft.
2) Save the database file.
3) Go to each squadron that uses/will use that aircraft and reselect that aircraft using the pulldown menu. This will refresh all of the aircraft data using the new data.
An easier way is to use michaelm's WITPload (available at spooky's site).
