What does everyone use to not only transport things around but to keep track of everything? Here is my system:

TAXI's
'taxis'which are actually task forces with 20 ak's. this gives them a load capacity around 140,000 which is enough to carry any single unit i have encountered in the game. I have only a few taxi task forces in the beginning of the game and it slowly builds up as AK's are more prevalent. These taxis are typically assigned a hub in which they operate out of. For example, San Francisco (and the entire west coast) have multiple taxis constantly bringing troops and aircraft to Pearl which is also a hub. From Pearl, units will either find themselves on another taxi to the south pacific or preparing for operations in the central pacific. Any taxis operating west of pearl harbor are given 2 DD's for escort. I've lost zero ships in this current method against the computer.

HUBS
My hubs in the current game are the west coast, pearl harbor, babo and lunga. So, in order for a unit to get a ride from the west coast to the southwest pacific, they must ride 2-3 taxis. Once a unit reaches their assigned destination they are transfered using AP's and LST's for operations that are typically within 10 hexes of their hub. I plan for the hub's to move with the front as well. HUB's are pretty well stacked with naval vessels based on the activity around that port.

AUTO-CONVOY
i use auto convoy out of san francisco only. I transfer all of this ships from Karachi to San Francisco. I was getting tired of Karachi sending so many ships through a gauntlet for no apparent reason.

KEEPING TRACK
to keep track of everything i use a microsoft word spreadsheet and a pen. the spreadsheet has worked for me so far and tracks a unit's current location, load costs, assault value, first and second destination, and the task force transporting them. I don't track units on this spreadsheet until they reach their operational theater. the units transfered on taxis are all in my head based on what i think i need.

PS the Taxi idea sound good + I think you will find Auto Conv from Karachi has now been fixed as of patch 1.6

I don't use auto-convoys.

I have quite a few CS convoys, that move supplies and fuel to my various hubs (not listing them however, as I have 3 PBEM games going at the moment). For the CS/routine convoys, I use the Supply/Tanker convoy titles, so that I don't confuse them with other convoys that are moving troops or have a specific objective.

At this point (April 42), it's not too difficult to keep track of LCUs. I have a list that I work from for Turn-1, it tells me what to send (and prep) for where. All of those guys are already where they need to to be. Now, it's a matter watching the reinforcment track, see what is coming, and deciding where I'm going to want it. Every two weeks or so, I collect the reinformcents (say from the WestCoast), and send this into hub system (obviously PH is the next destination). But sending a convoy for LCU or Sqdn that arrives, isn't worth it. So I send one about every 2 weeks.
