I like the system (having only played the old AA demo, though) and wonder if there is still a point in getting HTTR, since COTA subject matter interests me much more. Is there any hope that COTA will be out before, say, september?

If you've only played the AA demo and liked it, HTTR is going to blow you away, so I wouldn't want you to miss out on it.

Cota will - of course - be better still, but you could be playing HTTR tonight, so why wait [:'(]

Arjuna's a bit sick for the moment (It's winter down under), but when he's back he might be talkative about a release date - just keep bugging him - works wonders [;)]

Another thing that has been discussed is the developers would like to bring HTTR up to date with COTA at some point. I don't know any type of timetable though.

We're still beta testing COTA here. Not ready yet. We've just found a significant bug in our spot heights calculator that is going to take some time to fix. So I would wait. As Eddy says you could be enjoying HTTR tonight and believe me it's a quantum leap on the RDOA demo.

Well, as you and I well know well, you have to correct everything he does. I’m going round on Saturday night to make sure he doesn’t put Burgundy in the Chablis glasses. (Of course it doesn’t matter where he sticks the Shiraz!)

HTTR is a fantastic unique game.

HOWEVER if COTA interests you more and your on a tight budget then wait.

Wargames no matter how technically great they are are far better when you have an interest in the theatre/operation.

Hi,

Seeing that Wodin has finally put the thread back on track (can Belgian and Brits speak about something else than drinking ? [;)] ), I'd like to add a little bit more to the discussion.

The games are part of a serie. If you like one (in this case RdoA demo), you'll like HttR.
Nevertheless, CotA is huge improvement over HttR, which is big improvement over RdoA (not only the new maps and scenario).

If you feel it's worth exploring games in a serie, don't wait. As being said, you can enjoy HttR today and wait for CotA a bit. After CotA, I'm HttR will not have the same taste.

For my part, this is clear : I bought RdoA (first wargame bought in 5 years), HttR (the week it was available). I intend to buy CotA as soon as it is out and most (if not all) the successors.

And I wouldn't bet a cent on an hypothetic HttR upgrade. I don't see it happening (if at all) before Bulge is out. HttR is already a great game as it is.
