I am playing allies, scenario 42a, 1.06.
I have the 7th Australian Division and an HQ unit marching from Port Moresby to Buna. I think I might have used the Follow command, but am not certain. The LCUs got about 10 miles from Buna when I set up B-17s and 24s to Ground attack Buna and soften it up. However, not a single plane has attacked for many turns. If I set destination "Buna", it resets to commander discretion after each turn execution. Then I notice that the LCU have stopped making any progress toward Buna. They are stuck at 56 miles completed.

Is this WAD to reflect the fact that in real life this passage would be impossible for the Allies? Is it a bug? Is there a force field base improvement?

(I searched the forums before posting. Please don't RTFM me)

is there a Japanese LCU in the hex with Allied unit? Or check the ZOC by using 'w' key?

with the air attacks on Buna's LCUs:
1) Level Bombers Units must have < 50% damaged planes,
2) Range to Target must be < 8 (Allied Bombers),
3) Targeted LCU must have undamaged elements or Supplies,
4) Fatigue/disruption/morale of LBs might be insufficient to keep up attacks,
5) CAP cover over Buna may be too high.

There is a good list showing air ops requirements which I can't find at the moment.

No LCU in the hex with the Allied unit.
The LBs have 90% plus undamages planes, morale 99%, range <8.

Not sure if all the opposing LCUs are damaged/undamaged. I assume some are not.

In other words, there seems to be something unusual going on.

try issuing the March order to 7th Div again and click on the flag icon in Buna.
In other instances, clicking on flag icon usually means "I REALLY want to go there".[:D]

Also make sure Southern Control Zone is set to human.

Thanks SJ, it worked (I think).

Very strange. I gave up and directed my 7th Division and the Aussie HQ to turn around and head back to PM. While they were marching back, I saw the link about the Southern Control Zone, and changed it from Computer to Human. Well . . . the HQ got back to PM first, and then, about the time the 7th Div. was to arrive (in PM), it suddenly appeared in Buna. Very odd . . . I think I have save files around the period if anybody wants to check it out.
