question about Andrew's map

after many months away... I thought I would try all the latest mods and patches. I installed the patches, then installed the map, then the CHS files.
I think I installed everything correctly to play CHS 1.02 on the standard revised map 3b rather than mess with the ME and Panama.
What I notice is that ships in some ports like Trincomalee, Chandpur, Portland, Anchorage, don't want to go anywhere when you give them orders. They show red numbers under fuel use and don't trace routes to nearby or distant ports and never seem to sail.
So, did I mess up the install, or is there some new feature in the latest patches that prevents some ships from sailing till a certain point in the game is reached? I only ran a couple of turns after I noticed the ships weren't moving.
Help is always appreciated.

It sounds like you have the wrong map data file installed. Assuming that you do have my map loaded, you can check that the terrain matches by using the '1' key for terrain type, the 'F6' key for hexsides and the 'R' key for transport links.
Make sure that the map data matches the map. If it does not, then look for the correct file to load (this should be taken care of by my ModSelect batch file). If it DOES match, then you have something else going on, in which case you can send me a save and I will take a look.
If you need further help, please let me know.

Hi Andrew,
thanks for taking the time.
I pressed the R key and saw all kinds of red lines running off the pacific NW that weren't earthquake faults. That looks bad to me.
What should the dates be for the map files and the .Dat file? Everything I have is from March. PWhex.dat is dated 3-26-05.
I have been having problems downloading from your site and Spooky's using Firefox. Maybe my free zip utility isn't very good at fixing files.
I have been copying straight across to the art directory. I doubt I'll ever go back to the old map.I assume everything goes into the root of the art directory.

Here are the file timestamps:
"Standard" version 3b Pwhex.dat: 26/03/2005 10:54:02 PM
"Extended" version 3b Pwhex.dat: 26/03/2005 11:01:18 PM
You may have to convert to US date format [:)]
Note that this file needs to be in the main WitP directory, not the ART directory.

If you need to fix the zip files then they must be corrupted or incomplete. I have managed to used Firefox successfully as follows: when a download gets interrupted, then start it again, and when asked whether you wish to overwrite the file click on "Yes". The download should then resume from the point where it stopped.
I have been copying straight across to the art directory. I doubt I'll ever go back to the old map.I assume everything goes into the root of the art directory.
Be sure to read the README file in the package. It has a list of which files should be placed where.
Please let me know if you have any further questions/problems.

hi Andrew,
"The download should then resume from the point where it stopped. "
That feature didn't work for me, so I downloaded Get Right. I ran you install .bat and everything works fine now.
Well, except for the lack of memory due to firewall, AV, spybot, etc. But that's another problem.
Thanks for your help. It is much appreciated. Your map makes the game feel nice and new.
