allied ground forces advanced from moulmein, taking tavoy, victoria point, bangkok, and bandou
tho they have temporarily been halted at Songkhla by 80000 troops, a convoy with carrier support has departed colombo bound for the malayan peninsula, its mission?
land a force of approx 40000+ troops in an amphibious landing at Alor Star....
defened by about 5000 japs at best...
the purpose being to cut the supply and reinforcement routes of the jap army at songkhla, and pull another "Marky Mandalay Maneuver" here and route the japs and destroy them[:'(]
NOTE- i mislabeled Wake as Midway lol[:'(]
thats Wake [:'(]

currently its set at Historical, as is and was everything else
jap sub doct off
allied damage control on
etc[:'(]
i wanted as realistic a war as could be generated
as far as i know, i got that
if i put it at very hard, the AI would get logistical and combat advantages
and as we all know, the japs were at a logistical DISadvantage, tho in the early months and years of the pacific war, they did have superior ships, pilots and aircraft, and of course, much better torpedoes

update
October 22 1942
after weeks of fighting and heavy casualties, Songkhia finally fell today
Alor Star was secured in an amphibious landing several weeks ago in an effort to cut the japs off from reinforcements and cut their supply lines
it has succeeded and the surviving japs are retreating south toward khota baru, about 60000 japs
the force defending songkhia included the imperial guards division, and several other very powerful infantry units
in other news gili gili was retaken from the japs several weeks ago and is being built up as a forward/air base from which in combination from port moresby the invasion of buna, and then possibly lae, will be launched from
and over PM and GG air battles have been fought over the last several weeks, resulting in huge losses and loss rates as high as 50% for the jap AC that dared to stray over allied airspace...

in a further update, guadalcanal has blossomed into a huge base level 5 AF and port IIRC
and lexington is making sum repairs before her AA update, then shell join the rest of Halseys carriers, half of which may form 2 divisions of 3 carriers each
1 division will stay at pearl and the other will head for noumea
ill send enterprise, Hornet and saratoga down to noumea as CARDIV1
and yorktown wasp and lexington will stay at pearl
halsey will no doubt command CARDIV1 for the upcoming operations in the solomons and new guinea

i intend to use US and Austrlian army units in New guinea, and mainly marines in the solomons
i will keep a marine para brigade or 2 in reserve in new guinea in case i need them
the first landing in the solomons will be made at vella lavella
then the next landing will probably cum at buin, and then the final landing in the solomons will hit green island to set up a fighter, and dive and torp bomber base
which of course will support the invasion of kavieng, and then the Admiralty islands
i will most likely bypass rabaul and turn it into a self guarded prison camp, which may also be the fate of lae as well
