The Chat Room is Working, why don't we use it?

We need some sort of signal to show that the chat room is occupied. I don't know how this forum is set up, however, a blip or something should let us know that someone's in the room. C'mon, we can recon active signals better than what we do now, can't we? While we're at it, why not access the chat room from the forum page?

Do you need something special to get into chat room ? ie: java etc.....I have tried many times to log on from main page with nothing but a blank for efforts. <img src="confused.gif" border="0"> <img src="frown.gif" border="0"> <img src="cool.gif" border="0">

I don't understand why you guys are having problems--I go to Matrix home page, click on chat, enter in a oneword name, and voila, I'm in. Try it, I'll sign in now to test it. One of the things that's screwed up is the inability to stay in the chat room and on the forum;we need a hot key to switch back & forth--that would be a useful feature.

It may be a Netscape thing... I tried 4.7 Communicator with no luck but 6.0 Netscape worked fine. I didnt try IE but I assume it works; thats the way the WWW wants to work these days: All Microsoft, All the time. Really f***ing sad.

It is a Netscape thing, but there's an easy workaround. In Netscape click on Edit-preferences then click on Advanced...remove the checkmark from the box 'enable JavaScript', hit OK, and you're in like Flynn.

Tracer, I saw you out there just a few minutes ago, but you're not seeing my messages. WTF is going on here?

I just popped in for 5 seconds to make sure my suggestion worked; did it still show me as being in the chat room?
