I re-installed the game the other day and played a couple of days to get the hang of it again and then patched all the way to 2.42. One of the first things I noticed was the game I had previously being playing and saved was gone from my saved games list. I started a whole new game only to find I could not save it. I tried three times, twice in save slot 3 and once in 4 and each time I got an error message that says the game was not saved. In fact both the auto and combat save slots are empty. No specifics were given as to why the game would not save.

First...go to your e-mail, last turn from your opponent. Save it again. Should see it when you open UV PBEM "Load game". You can save to that from now on.
Second...when you type in what you want to save the turn as...make sure you only use letters or numbers...if you use any , or / etc. it won't save.

If ya get this fixed, you up for a game as the IJN?

Figured it out, I was using back slashes when entering the dates of saves, once I took them out I could save a game. Oddly enough, I never had this problem until I patched up to 2.42.

But now I have another problem. The 39th FS arrived @ Brisbane with 18 P-39s, but no pilots. The 40th FS is at Townsville with 19 P-39s and 5 pilots. It started the game with 12 pilots and I put it in training status, I can't believe it lost 7 pilots due to training accidents. In fact all my SWPAS air units seem to be replacing lost aircraft but not pilots. All (except the B-17 units, which I haven't used yet) have more aircraft than pilots. I played on for 10 more game and still no pilots!

p.s. Popeye USN, thanks but my work schedule only allows me enough time play a couple of hours a day, once or twice a week, so I play against the AI.

Disappearing pilots/aircrafts is the major bug why 2.42 is not the final patch.
