CHS question - Panama Canal

With the addition of the Panama Canal on the extended map, why do so many ships still enter the game in San Fran? Some of the early war reinforcements from the Atlantic like the carriers come through but what about the later war ship builds? A few examples: New Jersey was laid down and launched in Philadelphia but enters in San Fran. New York, Texas and Arkansas all served in the Atlantic Fleet first but also enter in San Fran.

We did not want to delay the release of CHS to do the work. You may notice that some were done but we came up on a release point decided not to delay any longer. We could have easily "just one more fix" CHS into next year.

In reality US naval combatants arriving from the east coast after transversing the canal generally either went to San Diego, Pearl Harbor, or straight to the forward operational areas. Very few went to San Francisco, which although was the dominate base for logistics, it was not a major navy base. San Diego had been the home port for the Pacific Fleet before the fleet started using PH. In the non-extended map acenario I modified arrivals accordingly.

I guess if someone is willing to do the work and make up a list of which ships should arrive at which base, then they can submit it to the CHS coordiator (now Lemurs) for possible inclusion.

It may take a while for me to out one together, but since I mentioned it I will tackle this for both the basic and extended map.
