Playing on a notebook/laptop

I seem to have a problem when trying to play the game on my notebook
It starts showing on the game select screen, under scenario length and victory conditions, anyway the box pops up with the scrollbar, but several choices shows under the box, i can still scroll down and select them so its a bearable problem.
I dont seem to have any problems on the map screen, though i might not have tested it enough. I havent tested combats yet.
Anyway the "big" problem is in development/military/ect screens the "boxes" are over each other making planning impossible. Also the boxes containing game options and development etc seem to overlap.
I tried changing screensize without any visible change, though its native setting seems to be 1024x768, which i read somewhere in this forum the game runs in.
I have no problems running GGWaW
Specs:
Acer 4650LCi, Centrino 715 (1.5GHz), 512MB DDR2-533, 60GB, 15” TFT, Combo CDRW/DVD, Intel GMA900 VGA, 54MBIT WLAN, GLAN, Bluetooth, 56k, Card Reader, XP Pro.
I havent had time to check for driverupdates though.
