Some questions....

1. I 'conquered(Under new management)' some provinces through 'cede province' in the diplomacy process. I got the province just fine but the 'provincial troops' remain neutral and located in the province. Is this correct? Shouldn't the provincial troops become mine when I control the province?

2. I think this is a bug. I am allied with Spain and I believe Spain called one of my corps into battle against their enemy. My corps moved into and fought with the Spanish without any notification or request from me. Fair enough but now I have no control over that corps or troops or even the prisoners now attached to it.

I never 'lent' or used any political process that would allow Spain to control my corps. Sure, my ally asked for help but I should be presented with a "box" that asks me if I wish to respond just as I have a choice to reinforce a battle of my own.

Certainly, I should keep control over the troops after the battle is over but I can only selct them, I can't move them or use them anymore. I want them back - how do I do that?

Is this a bug?

3. I can not find how to get supply across the water. I see the computer put depots in the water but I can't find it in the manual or figure it out. Any help?

OK...

1. If you conquer and hold it now as your national province the minors troops remain neutral .. may be bugged may be feature, but you do not and should not get them.

If you turn the province into a protectorate, their units become yours.

2. Your corps probably entered a province that you may no longer be at war with, have you tried to activate "violate neutrality" to see if that helps.

3.You need a depot adjecent to the sea zone, then right click on the sea zone or zones you want to build depots in... just the same as on land

Hope this helps

Ian,
Thanks I'll try that.

I am puzzled why a protectorate would give troops but 'owning' the country would not.....If anything, the troops should fight for the 'owner' either way. If they weren't going to fight then they should disband or go 'insurrectionist' and attempt a coup.

Speaking of insurrectionists, any idea how to keep them from popping up? Can't be national morale which is at 1000 and has been for years.

Courts combat insurrectionists ... nil courts in a province = rebels sooner or later, one level helps, 2 is better, 3 etc etc

They will only fight if you give them some empty promises, like "Hey guys, I need to borrow your Lancers, and I swear you can have your own country...err...well, sort of. How about a Grand Duchy? Yeah, that's the ticket! Just make sure not to make any real decisions on your own, thaaaaaaanks."

Otherwise if you annex the province outright, they will still fight for you, but only as any other of your provinces (contribute manpower to the pool, build troops in the province, etc).

How did a protectorate get ceded as a conquered province? Shouldn't have let you do it, AFAIK. "Liberate" is the treaty option for making a nation get rid of a protectorate.

Having a Corps or Army in a province el;iminates the chance for insurection.
