Stormhawk vs. falcon

Hi all. I'm a newb - eyed starshatter for years it seems before realizing how dull most industry games are these days.

Anyway, I'm curious and I couldn't find anything in the manual about it. What are the advantages of the falcon over the stormhawk? I think I prefer flying the stormhawk in every respect, but I haven't tried any starship commands yet. Does the falcon suit some mission profile better?

Also, has anyone found a use for arming a fighter with rockets?

Stormhawk beats Falcon easily. There is little reason to use Falcon. However Falcon MIGHT suit better for atmosphere dog fights against enemy fighters (after you have cleared AA defense with Stormhawk) but I have little experience about it. Also if your carrier happens to be low on Stormhawks, using Falcons would save precious Stormhawks and those large bombers for later use against enemy starships.

Rockets are useful against mines and ground targest. Might also work against light starships like frigates and destroyers if you are flying Falcon. Also wingman has habit to fire them against enemy fighters but it is waste of ammo.

How much a difference is there between the Falcon and Stormhawks damage profile and turning abilities? The only reason the bomber isn't the best dogfighter is because it's cannon is so easily disabled.

Well, in my opinion the bomber is sluggish as hell. What's the line? Looks like a fish, moves like a fish, steers like a cow.

Yeah, but a hit from it's cannon always leaves a mark [;)]
