The press release reads:

"The Matrix Games release will be a new updated version, scheduled for late Summer, 2005."

If I buy 8.21 now, will I have to buy the new release in a couple weeks again? Also, what is the Gold Edition that I've read about on the forum?

I believe you can download 8.21 as a free trial so you wouldn't have to pay twice. The Gold Edition which will be 9.0 has significant new features from version 8, notably a new multiplayer system and the ability to import whole teams of real players from the Lahman database.

the current version 8.21 allows you to import a historical season from Lahman now, but as I understand it you can actually download individual players from different years in the new version.

I'm doing some final testing right now. Should be available real soon now, complete with the sexy new "Matrix Branding"

It will only work for those of you that have already purchased PureSim 2005. In order to avoid confusion I have taken down 8.21 and all trial versions.
