Unable to detach from some Armies/Corps

As Turkey I built an Army in Serbia and then was unable to detach units from it. It behaved exactly the same as a protectorate Army (like the Egyptian ones), except it wasn't a protectorate army, it was a regular container built by my own barracks in Serbia.

I believe this happened because the Army I built had a Serbian minor flag on it, and thus it behaved like a protectorate army not a native Turkish one - which is really inconvenient for the Turks at least, and probably not intended [;)]

Yes, but you can chose to build it there or elsewhere, and I think you will find that you do not have to pay maintenance for it. Were all units permanently attached, or could some come and go? I seem to recall being able to add and then detatch some units from just such an army (This happens to France in some former German minors and also in Lorraine IIRC)

I have just double checked a save game. I had christened the army "why the flag?"[:)] so it was easy to find! (The save game had the same name!).

If I add any units with the small minors flag icon, they get stuck in the army. Pure french regular units can be added and detached at will.

yeah that's what happens - it's a real problem with the turks - they have tons of units with minor flags and sorting them out is maddening - god forbid i should attach one by mistake have to waste a turn joining it to somewhere else

There should be a simple UI tweak to show protectorate divisions... Hmmm. Could show half the minor flag over the nation's flag, or some such.

It sounds like the military to me! Units being attached to "incorrect" commands and going to the "wrong" location .... sounds just like every NATO excercise I ever suffered! (not that our "internal" excercises were that much better ... just smaller and more localised CUs rather than full blown FUs.

Of course when I finaly ended up having to do my stint on staff, the same old problems continued, but it was no longer down to faulty planning!![:D]

no of course not, now it was the load-bearing grunts getting lost all on their own
