Dec 8th, 1941 : Pearl Harbor revenge already ? (combat report)

Hi all,
as told in a previous post yesterday, I am starting a PBeM scen 15 as Japanese (while I am here, hello to my US opponent, Martin).
ALL my Dive bombers failed to load Torpedos for Pearl Harbor attack, leaving BBs with very small damage (bombs only)...
Even if I know that sinking those BBs will not decide the fate of the war, I finally decided to stay in the area one more day and try another attack against port and possible enemy TFs around Hawai.
It happened that Martin created a surface combat TF with undamaged ships (CA, CL, DDs) and launched a bolt attack against the KB. I failed to detect it at night and a resulting surface combat was started between one of my two TFs (house rule : no more than 3 CVs by TF, so I divided KB in 2 equal TFs) and his SUrface combat TF.

I was a bit nervous during the combat report... Even if such combat rarely result in serious damage to CVs, as escorting ships acts as screens... US player still managed to sing one of my cruisers, but I seriously damaged several american combat ships... I will not give exact damage to my ships to not spoil current game [:)]
Moreover, KB spotted fleeing BBs heading towards US West Coast during the day and managed to put many torpedoes in their hulls...
