Hi,

I sort of new to the game and have been unable to complete an Amphibious assault. So, maybe I am doing someing wrong. When I try to move, say an infantry unit across the Med to invade Italy I get "Illegal Movement". The transport has been there more than a turn, nothing on it. The country of origin has supplies. The unit hasn't been moved before. This occurs just about any place I try. I was able to move a unit from the US to Moracco and I was able to invade Southern France. So, I stumped.

Please help.

You need *2* transports per unit, more if armor.

First, the SECOND number next to the transports (30/3) is the amount of amphibious capability. You need 5 to invade with an infantry, 10 for a tank. In the case of everyone but Japan (Japans tranpsports start at 5 instead of 3), you need 2 transports to have enough amphib capability to invade with 1 infantry. (3+3 =6)


Second, you cant do amphibious assaults at all during winter.

I want to clarify this. You can't do them in winter zones such as northern Russia. They are still possible near the equator.

My mistake. I forget that one since I play axis in nearly every game. I dont do much amphibious assaulting aside from Japan.

I aways turn on the cold regions options(page 20). All winter spots are covered in snow when you have this option on. That way you know where you can and cannot perform and amphibious assault on [:)]
