New bulding graphics?

I was looking through the SPWAW manual today and was reminded of something I've been meaning to ask.
Is anyone aware of any additional building graphics available for the map editor? Maybe version 7.0 has some additional offerings.
The appearance of the game is so neat and the possibilities so endless that it seems like there must be something new out there somewhere.
Any help guys?
Also, can anyone recommend a program that will allow me to print exact copies of maps and lbms? I've used Mapthing and it is a a wonderful tool. But I would really like to be able to have "hard copies" of buildings, etc. to study.

Hi tracker,

there have been some threads on this topic. Try a forum search with keywords "graphics" or "buildings" should work.
Unfortunately I can´t provide you a quick link as the profile function does not allow to review own postings. <img src="frown.gif" border="0">

Thanks RockinHarry. I'll do those searches. Wish I had a better computer, I'd love to take a crack at designing "eye candy" for this great game.
I don't know about you but it would be neat to me to have such things as parked planes on airfields and specific immobilized civilian vehicles to sprinkle about cities. (Think model train layouts.)
I'll post the info if and when I come up with anything.

Hi tracker,

you don´t need to wait for parked planes and abandoned tanks for long! Mega Campaign Lost Victories will have them in expanded Graphics set as targetable terrain. Else...it´s not too difficult to extract some stuff out of the Unit shape files and repack them into the User Custom Terrain files with Fred Chlandas "Shape Edit". I already did this with some stuff. Search forum for appropriate postings, I have released some stuff (links) in a recent posting. I think it´s about 1-2 month ago. You also might want to check info in the military gamer forum concerning Fred Chlandas programs.

Just in case you don´t know much about Fred Chlandas programs, check this:

BTW: Tracker..you can export the SPWAW building (..and all else) shape files to BMP format easily with Freds Shape Edit. You either can do collages or single bitmap files,..just try!
Then take graphic Application like Paint Shop (..or any) and make hardcopies. Also Word (-pad) and Acrobat stuff can be useful to make printable shape file catalogues.

Sorry I think I just prematurely posted. Hate it when that happens.

RockinHarry you just made my day! I'm looking forward to the new graphics to play with.

In the meantime I'm going to take your advice and see what kind of trouble I can get into with Fred's program(s). Haven't gotten into anything yet that I couldn't get out of eventually.

Do you suggest that I install "paintshop pro" that has been mentioned in some posts? If this is the standard for the folks working on graphics then it seems the smart thing to do.

Who knows, if I work at this long enough maybe I can contribute something to SPWAW. That would definitely be cool!

Yes..to use Paintshop Pro is my recommendation. (..matter of taste though). It also can read the LBM file format, used for unit info screen graphics! ...At least that´s the program that I used for my SPWAW graphic works so far. But as said: Others work as well.

Have fun

Paint Shop Pro is a great program!
I have used it for a variety of graphic designs.
Install it, you won't regret it.

Thanks for the advice. Paint Shop Pro is now on the top of my Christmas list. (If I can wait that long!)

What type of buildings would be cool to have? I have PSP and am interested in doing some stuff.

Offhand, I am thinking a cool round MG tower would be neat (make it a wooden building class). Make it with little protuding MGs.

Any other suggestions? A Johnny-on-the-Spot for when you run into an unexpected King Tiger?

Make a web search for Paintshop Pro and you should find the site where you can download the Demo (..and order/registration info).
