I don't know if anyone else here is a CLONE, but a couple weeks ago, I heard a caller use the term "SABERMETRIC" in his phone call take. I don't know how many Rome fans we have on this board, but I knew right away that he had to be a Puresimmer, because I've never seen or heard the term anywhere else.
If you're a regular listener, give it up.!! I'd like to know how many clones we have on this board. [8D]

Sabermetrics is actually a pretty common term referring to the mathematical attempt to quantify baseball. It was in an episode of "Crossing Jordan" once, too. I "asked jeeves" and he said...
"Sabermetrics is the analysis of baseball through objective evidence, especially baseball statistics. The term is derived from the acronym SABR, which stands for the Society for American Baseball Research. It was coined by Bill James, who has been its most enthusiastic (and by far its most famous) proponent."

Yeah, "sabermetrics" originates with Bill James and is not a Puresim invention. I remember buying my first Baseball Abstract around 1979 or 1980. The term has been around a while.
