To make entrenchments

I think this must be an easy question for senior players but for me is difficult:
Is posible to make "sand bags" entrenchments ? Or the only posibility is to put an unit "in cover" or in "defend" stance.
To be "in cover" or to be "in defend" is the same thing ?

If you're playing a Defend battle, you can dig in during deployment. That's the best defensive stance.

If you're defending, your troops will automatically be dug in (sandbags, trenches) at the start of the battle, unless they are in houses, in which case they are pretty well covered already.
If you leave infantry units in a hex for some time during any type, they will randomly gain the "in cover" status, but the benefits will be smaller than in the above case.
Last, all troops can be set to one of two stances, namely Defend or Attack (the latter may be named differently). This is a different issue. The Defence stance will allow the units to OpFire with greater probability. If you enable the Command&Control option, a unit in Defend stance cannot move, and switching stance costs one order point. I do not know whether units in Defend stance gain the OpFire bonus in non-C&C mode. In that case you could set the stance to Defend for free and get the bonus, which would be wrong one way or the other.
EDIT: Hey, Terminus, you're also from Denmark! I live in Nærum, near Copenhagen, you?

Unit Stance (Attack/Defend) only applies if you have C&C turned on; it is ignored otherwise.
Entrenchments can only be used in a 'Defend' scenario; if your side is to Dfened, then you may entrench your units during the Deploy phase by clicking the 'Entrench All Units' button.
'Cover' is acquired during the game by units (non-C&C) that a)remain stationary, b) have minimal or no Suppression, and c)pass an Experience check. Cover can only be acquired by units with C&C on that have been placed in a 'Defend' stance, and meet the previous requirements.
